HMS Royal Arthur

From Butlins Holiday Camp to Royal Navy Training Establishment.

The Naval Training Establishment HMS Royal Arthur was on the East Coast of Great Britain, in Skegness. Here the first Belgians arrived on 21st October 1940. Their ages ranged from 18 to 55 years old. Their basic training lasted 6 weeks. Afterwards, some of the recruits were drafted to other Naval Bases in Great Britain, to undergo their specialist branch training.
