Strijd op Zee (The Fight at Sea)
Volume 1 - Personal Stories and Experiences
This book is the story of the men who were on board of the many ships during WW2. Most of them had a fisherman history. They escaped from Belgium to be away from the German occupation, into the UK. Many of the veterans tell their own story, which is illustrated with a lot of magnificent pictures.
The book follows them during their escape and their arrival in England. You also read about their stay in the training center of the Royal Navy. Beneath the hard facts, many other stories are told. Also the moment of the liberation and their homecoming has not been forgotten.
